Lawrence Sher, ASC, and the rest of the ShotDeck team were honored to receive the prestigious Bert Easey Technical Award this past week at a gala event organized by the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC).

The Bert Easey Technical Award was first presented in 1951 and renamed in 1976 in honor of Bert Easey, head of the Camera Department at Denham and Pinewood Studios and one of the key founders of the British Society of Cinematographers. It is given to “an individual or company who has contributed something outstanding in the way of endeavour or equipment.”

Christopher Ross, BSC (DP of Yesterday, Black Sea) introduced the award, stating “ShotDeck has quickly become one of the industry’s most used research tools. ShotDeck boasts the largest library of fully searchable high-def images in the world and a portal to discover and watch the most beautiful films ever made.”

Thank you to the BSC for this incredible honor, and a huge congrats to all of the other winners at last weeks event. Click above to watch Sher’s full acceptance speech.
